How to Pack a Wardrobe Box – Packing tips

Packing a Wardrobe Box – Great way to move clothes hanging in your closet

One of the best packing tips we can give you is to always get all of your household items packed into sturdy cardboard boxes. (Plastic bags won’t really work)

A wardrobe box is the largest standard-sized box that most movers use for packing. Our wardrobe boxes measure 24’’ x 21’’ x 49’’ and come with a 24’’ metal hanging bar.

It is specially designed to safely transport hanging clothes during the course of the move (Hanging closet clothes, such as coats, boutique items, suit jackets, dresses, and any other hanging shirts or pants).

Your clothes will not become wrinkled during the move, because you can leave your clothes on the hanger.

Since clothes can simply be moved from a closet and hung on the box’s metal hanging bar, unpacking is really quick and simple. Once at the new location, just transfer the hanging clothes back into the new closet.

How to pack a wardrobe box:

It is relatively easy to pack a wardrobe box, after packing a couple of them you will agree.

-To assemble a wardrobe box, start by flipping it over and taping the bottom shut, using extra packing tape to secure the seams. Next turn the box upright.

-One side of the box is designed to pull out and fold down, to make it easier to add your hanging clothes. Pull this wall down next.

-Place the hanging bar into the pre-cut grooves. Once inserted, the box is ready to be packed.

-Start filling the box by placing items like shoes, belts, purses or other light items in the bottom of the wardrobe box to maximize the space.

-Take hanging clothes and place them on the bar.

-Once the box is filled, simply fold up all the tabs and tape the box shut at the top. (Don’t forget to label it and make sure you always carry it upside up)

Packing advice

*Be sure not to put too much on the floor of the box or you will wrinkle the clothes inside. Light items like pillows work perfectly.

*The most accurate way to determine how many wardrobe boxes you will need, is to separate the clothes into 2-foot increments in the closet. Then, just count how many 2-foot sections you have. That’s how many wardrobe boxes you’ll need.
